Room Selection Process
Returning Hope students: Select your housing and roommate for the 2025–2026 school year at room selection!
Open room selection will be held in person April 8 and 9 in the Schaap Auditorium in the Bultman Student Center.
Open Room Selection Process
Remaining cottage/apartment and residence hall spaces are assigned in our Open Room Selection process. This process will be held on April 8 and 9, 2025.
Students without a housing assignment will be automatically entered into Open Room Selection.
You will be randomly assigned a room selection number based on how many years you have been in college attendance. This number will determine the time you will be selecting your room. All women will select their rooms on Tuesday, April 8, and all men will select their rooms on Wednesday, April 9.
A few notes about Open Room Selection:
- When you select a room, you will name your roommate. So, after receiving your room selection numbers, you and your roommate should select your room using the lowest number assigned to you.
- Not all hall rooms will be available to select at Open Room Selection. Rooms where students elect to remain in the next academic year, as well as rooms strategically selected for incoming first-year students, will not be included in open room selection.
- Process
-
On Monday, April 7, you will receive information regarding your Open Room Selection number and time of selection.
If you are picking housing with a student that is year ahead of you, you will pick housing on their time.
When your name/number is called, you (and your roommate) will pick from the available residential hall rooms or the apartment and cottage spaces. If you pick a double room, you will be asked to name a roommate. If you are unable to name a roommate, we will consolidate students or house another student with you.
If you do not pick the housing you hoped for, you will have the opportunity to complete a wait list for other housing.
